What documents do you need?
The types of Rwanda tourist visa available are meant for people traveling for tourism/holiday purposes. You are not allowed to work under any of them.
These are the general Rwanda visa requirements, shared across all visa types:
Some visa types may ask for additional information. Specifically, the transit and East Africa visa have their own documentation requirements. They are:

- A valid passport. It must have at least 6 months of validity remaining when you enter Rwanda.
- A bank card (credit or debit) with sufficient funds to cover the fees.
- A current email address to receive the approved visa.

- Transit visa: a complete travel itinerary.
- East African visa: a personal photo of the applicant. It must be passport-sized with a white background.
- Family visit visa: an invitation letter, flight itinerary, proof of financial means, and proof of employment or enrollment.

How to apply for a Rwanda eVisa
Applying online is a very simple process. You only need to:
- Fill out the application form
- Pay for the visa fees using a bank card
- Wait for the approved document to be sent to the provided email address
Which countries are exempt from visa requirements
Citizens of these countries can travel to Rwanda visa-free for up to 6 months:

Kenya
South Sudan
Tanzania
Uganda
These nationalities are visa-exempt for trips of 90 days or less:
Angola
Benin
Central African Republic
Chad
DR Congo
Ghana
Guinea

How long can I stay in the country with a tourist visa?
Each visa will allow you to stay in the country for a specific period of time:
- Holiday and family visit visa: 30 days
- Transit visa: 72 hours
- East Africa visa: 90 days per entry
